A Colorado native, Dr. Zinis attended Mullen High School and received his BA from Occidental College in Los Angeles, California. He received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Pennsylvania and completed his residency at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Dr. Zinis is very involved with the sports community both locally and internationally. He has worked for USA Hockey as the head team physician at the Olympics and multiple World Championships and as an assistant team physician in the NHL for the Colorado Avalanche (20 years) and in the NBA for the Denver Nuggets (14 years). Dr Zinis is credentialed as a USOC (United States Olympic Committee) physician and has served as the head team physician at the Summer and Winter Olympics as well as Paralympics for USA Wheelchair Basketball and Rugby. He was prior team physician for the Colorado Foxes (soccer) and the Colorado Crush Arena Football Team. Dr. Zinis has been recognized on multiple occasions as a 5280 Top Doctor since 1999. He continues to focus on the functional restoration of orthopedic injuries with a conservative yet progressive philosophy.
Raili Donnelly, PA-C
Raili Donnelly, PA-C, is a Certified Physician Assistant specializing in Physical Medicine And Rehabilitation and Non-Operative Sports Medicine at Denver Sports Medicine and Spine in Denver, Colorado. Raili received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Dartmouth College, a private Ivy League university in Hanover, New Hampshire where she played D1 Softball for four years. She then graduated from the Physician Assistant Program with a Master’s Degree in Science at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver. Her first job as a Certified Physician Assistant began over 15 years ago with Dr. Zinis, where they worked together for seven years at his previous practice. Raili then spent five years working in orthopedic surgery at Rose Medical Center Hospital in Denver. As of the fall of 2019, Raili returned to outpatient, privacte practice and joined the team at Denver Sports Medicine and Spine to start seeing patients again with Dr. Zinis. She is an integral part of the team and uses her experience as a former D1 athlete to help others keep moving.
